I just saw the movie “Times Square” (1980) with Mitch & d.aMa last night at the Harvard Film Archive and I really loved it. Although the final version of the film was missing key pieces of the main love story (so says the internet), I really enjoyed huge parts of this film. I especially loved the lead girl’s clothes! I call their style “Punk meets Grey Gardens Re-Fashion.” These gals made clothes out of items found in the trash, re-purposed old quilts, deconstructed bathrobes, garbage bags, cabaret costumes, furs, and old found men’s clothes. SO great! Also, my girl Patti Smith is on the soundtrack.
